South Tyrol Festival
“Mahler – Contrasts – Bel canto”. This is the motto of the South Tyrol Festival, which this year takes place from 16th to 25th September in Dobbiaco’s Grand Hotel Cultural Centre. The choice of venue is no accident, since Gustav Mahler made musical history in Toblach / Dobbiaco, writing his two major works, “The Song of the Earth” and his Ninth Symphony here. In addition to Mahler’s famous works, the South Tyrol Festival programme also includes Bel canto masterpieces and works by contemporary composers – a must for every lover of classical music.
