Dobbiaco Cortina Open
Cross-Country Race
The Dobbiaco Cortina Open Cross-Country Race,
traditionally held on the first weekend in February, is the next
sporting highlight of the year. For over thirty years, athletes from
home and abroad have soaked up the sight of the snow-clad Dolomites
as
they make their way along the stretch of disused railway line between
Toblach / Dobbiaco and Cortina. There are two distances on offer: a 30
km classic-style race and a 42 km free-style race. More than a hundred
cross-country skiers are expected to take part again this year, all
trying to beat their personal best amidst the breathtaking scenery of
the South Tyrolean mountains.
